Formed In 1998 in Portsmouth by Mick Arloe, Kevin Brazier, Richard Janke and Barry Morgan. Tim Nowell later replaced Barry Morgan and Colin Jones was brought into the line-up soon after that. The band played many gigs in the south of England, notably at the Bull Frog Blues Club and a session at the Isle of Wight festival. They produced one CD called Preservation which included two of their own songs plus some Dr John and Neville brothers’ material, amongst others. They split around 2002/2003

The Band Big Easy took their name and their musical inspiration from the city of New Orleans and some of the city’s musicians. The band broke up before Katrina devastated the city. What was once New Orleans, the band hopes will be once again soon.  I visited New Orleans in 2000, I hope to visit again. It was truly a wonderful place.
